Stand out from the corporate crowd with a snazzy tie that both sets you apart from those suit-wearing drones and allows you to inject a bit of fun into your work outfit. These ties from Paul Smith's SS12 collection are just witty enough to draw attention to you. Who knows? You might become a streetstyle sensation.

Sartorial Inspiration.. Polka Dots
photo: Guerreisms
This is, by far, the most interesting suit I've seen throughout men's fashion week. Tiny polka dots on a navy suit make for a standout outfit from boring pinstripe (or plain) ones. The use of chain link as a belt adds just that bit of sprezzatura to this outfit to make this the right amount of cool.

Accessories.. Andy Spade Anchor Print Wallet
The most adorable Jack Spade wallets are now available at Cumulus. Actually, they've been there for quite sometime. I'm talking about the anchor print-embossed wallets of course, every sailor boy's dream. Made from a lush, supple leather, it comes in one of two colours - blue, or brown. They'd make quite a snazzy place to hold your cash. There's also a handy card holder to store your name cards, credit cards and whatnots as well. Go get a piece before they run out of stock.

Giorgio Armani at the BAFTAs
from left: Colin Firth, Michael Fassbender, Tom Hiddleston
More spiffily dressed actors at the BAFTAs - this time in Giorgio Armani, he of the sharp Italian cut. By the way, totally digging the velvet jacket ensemble on Tom Hiddleston. Velvet seems to be totally trending right no, but having apprehensions of the material because it freaks me out to see sweat stains on velvet. What do you guys think?

Kenzo AW12
photos: Dazed Digital
Kenzo's new creative directors Humberto Leon and Carol Lim are doing a hell of a job reviving the previously doddering brand with a blast (yes, blast) of fresh perspective and ushering a new era of style. Their first menswear collection for the brand proves just my point. Suffused with a more youthful and vibrant aesthetic than that from the past - think kaleidoscopic gem prints, jewel-toned suits thrown in the mix with more utilitarian pieces - the collection is definitely finding new fans worldwide.
While strong, bold prints are certainly shaping up to be mainstays of the designers' vision of the new label, they haven't forgotten the more wearable and functional pieces that will probably sell quite well on the shop floor. Among some of the pieces that went down really well (with me) were the wool shirts with double breast pockets, which could be layered, or worn on their own. Suits were nothing out of the ordinary on their own, but paired with quirky cardigans and sweaters made them seem more Chuck Bass than Donald Trump.

Ivy Noir
Recently, I've begun thinking about jewelry for men and I inadvertently stumbled across this collection, aptly titled Ivy Noir, by jewelry label Smith/Grey. It's a kind of signet ring that looks as if it's been worn for a long long long time which is why it has this amazingly textured appearance on one side. The collection of rings, collar stiffeners and cufflinks is a riff on a dark version of traditional Ivy League elements. Available on Smith/Grey's online store, the rings come in silver, gold and oxidized silver. Prices range from £375 to £410.

Trend.. Pocket Squares
photos: Guerreisms
Pocket squares have been quietly making a comeback in menswear over the past few seasons. Spotted on some of the most stylish guys in the world at the menswear shows has elevated the pocket square to cool status once again. Fortunately, The Fold Initiative does some pretty snazzy options that are reasonably priced besides. It sources its materials from all over the world and makes them into pocket squares in limited quantity. However, the pocket squares are affordably priced at a flat rate of $20 each. So, will you wear a pocket square this season?
